do seatmat emulators available on Ebay actually work?

A little while back my young nephew stood on the passenger seat of my Z4 which resulted in the airbag light displaying on the dash :headbang:

Had a local garage knock the light off and confirm its the seatmat. Its not been an issue however Ive had some interest in my Zed and want to get the fault fixed before I sell it on.

Has anyone purchased one of these seatmat emulators off Ebay and can they confirm they work? thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I got one off ebay for my sons e46 a few years back and the worked perfectly iirc it cost about a fiver

cheers - they are about £30-£35 now https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324499559289?hash=item4b8dae5379:g:JxkAAOSwqrVcZAJ6

Have you tried one of these after you have reset the light?
Stops the seat gong going off when you put stuff on the seat - permanent occupancy

There's two different types, depending on the age of your car. Well the age of the seats, just in case they've been transferred from another car. I know this because two years ago I bought the wrong type initialy, for the very reason that the faulty Msport seat was originally from a facelift car, but now fitted in a pre-facelift...
From memory, the older version was about a tenner but the newer type I needed was £32. Has worked faultlessly since.

Not just me then! I replaced the seats in mine for electric heated versions and then bought the cheaper version which didnt fit!
