Do roadster roofs sag?

Hi all,a mate at work today asked me this,"why do you ask" i replied-he then told me how he thought my roof was always 'tight'-but the other day after hours of rain, as i pulled out of the carpark,he said it looked as though my roof was sagging (hoping it was the weight from the rain)-because i see my car every day i have not noticed tbh-any thoughts?-i did a search but no good came of it.Thanks .

I think your mate was pulling your leg.
I think by the time the roof is locked into the window surround the fabric is very tight and snug. If it started to sag then I'd inclined to check the fitting hoop at the rear as that's probably going to give first...

There's not actually that much material over 'space' to sag. Go and tap your roof and you'll find most of it is solid mechanism and cover plates underneath, I'd be surprised if there is more than a span of 3 or 4 inches that isn't directly supported.

The fabric contracts when hot and dry and expands when cold and wet. There is a barely noticeable difference between the extremes on the Zed, but it's more like slightly less taut than sagging. It's physics, the effect is much worse on larger roofs. Only nit picky anal sorts would notice it on the Zed.
