Do I want a Storm Motorwerks gear knob?

Because I feel like I do :D I've currently got the shorter ZHP gear knob, which I really like but, you know, any excuse to spend money  And the Storm knob looks amazing, and everyone raves about it improving the shift action, so I'm really tempted…

Go for it. I don't have a Storm Motorwerks gear knob, but I do have a lovely "Buckley" stainless steel gear knob made by one of the forum memebers. I had it on my E89 and now on my E85. From my perspective no issues with heat/cold, great gear change and so.... tactile :)

In terms of shift action I doubt you’ll notice much improvement over ZHP although the Storm ones are a little heavier. I have a V4 which is great if you don’t want the “all metal” look. IMO this is the best option in a black leather / Alu trim environment.

Go for it, it’s not an expensive upgrade and it’ll make you feel better.

If you are unsure on which one suggest you ask your wife or girl friend. As they  may have more experience of what a "good knob" feels like.

I have the all metal stormwerks, great addition to the shift feel, looks the part too.yes its cold in winter but not bad enough to warrent me changing it back to stock.
Unless you live in death valley the summer heat is never a real problem.

It sounds like you already know the answer to your question.

I like the ZHP because it looks OE but works much better than the OE ones.

Why not try it? If you don't like it you could awlays go back to the ZHP and sell the Storm one on here!
