Do I need a new water pump?

Driving the Z this evening and all of sudden I hear a warning sound and a see that the temperature gauge has gone into the red.
I pulled over and turned off the engine.
As it happens I received my Carly this week and plugged it in.
I gave me the pictured faults.
After I'd read these fault codes I restarted the car and everything seemed normal but I'm thinking that I need to replace my water pump.
It's a Coupe just turned 94k this week and as far has I know is still on it's original pump.
I would very much appreciate any advice forum members can provide.

Regards
Andy

Going by the codes, mileage and the fact that they do fail. I'd say yes, do it asap. Not at BMW tho ;) get the part and get a specialist to change it.

Hi, I wouldn't drive the car again until the pumps been replaced-it's not worth damaging the engine over

Thanks for the replies
I've found this on ebay, has anyone had one of these fitted. There's a dearer one made by First Line

Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/371975338997

Cheaper from Germany! Won't take long to arrive.

That's great Bucks thanks.
While I'm at it should I replace the thermostat too for the sake of a few quid?

Yours is doing exactly same as mine did same fault codes.

I checked on here and it was divided opinion weather to change stat too so asked my mechanic who said don't bother as it'd only take 15 min to swap out if it breaks later on.

Depends who does your mechanicing and what they charge you as to weather it's worth changing at the same time

Definitely do the thermostat as well and I would also recommend doing the expansion tank as these do crack and are only £49 for a good quality Mehle version.

Cheers, James

Sorry to hear that OP. :(

My first Coupe (great choice of Z4 BTW) had one die at 60K miles and 9 years. :(

I had a new pump and thermostat fitted based on the recommendation of my local BMW indy. (Ouch).
