Do I miss my z4 coupe?

Well put it this way.. I've just spent over 20k on a m3 and 3 days later I got a throttle valve actuator fault to the tune of 1k :headbang:

However, the sound and acceleration of a v8 for the first 2 days will stay with me for a lifetime :D

Is the dealer now sorting it Jim or are they still trying to push you onto the AA warranty..?

Still pushing me to use the warranty. Also found out it will take 6-7 weeks to get a throttle actuator from germany as they are out of stock. Just asked for a full refund :(

Seen your plight on cutters..

Sounds like a problem car thats been traded in to me.........

Reject!

This is such a sad way to enter into M3 ownership Jim because when they work they are great fun...but as a previous poster has suggested a Z4MC could tick many boxes as they are pretty much as quick & they offer reasonable MPG in comparison to a M3 & imo look more special & they are so rare.

I suppose the Z4MC doesn't offer the practicality of a M3 though...

Buy a Nissan Primera that will never go wrong for 2k, Z4MC for 15k and you have saved yourself 3k ;)

V8 will always beat the weak sounding straight 6 though... well worth the teething issues..... ;)

.....no.....no I won't bite

Sounds like a nightmare though Jim, hope you manage to get it sorted. Then get yourself an RS4

cheers everyone! the Z4 never put a foot wrong but I guess your luck with cars has to run out sooner or later.

Would love a z4mc but I need something more practical. Love the idea of having the z4mc plus a cheap A-B car but I don't have the drive space :D

Part of me thinks its just teething issues and it will be worth it in the end. But the 6-7 week wait for stock and the way the dealer has treated me is leaving a bad taste. The thought that there are actually two throttle valve actuators and they are inherently unreliable and can go at any year/mileage strikes fear into me and my wallet :o

p.s... steven... bite :D

awww.... well I'll put IMO then... better????? lol :D

my straight 6 engines in the Zed and Jeep are nothing compared to the Audi V8s (N/A), or the BMW V8 (again N/A) or the Jag V8 (supercharged).... they can't compete in the sound department one little bit...

obviously great engines, just not a great sound.... again In My Opinion. ;)
