Do i get a M bonet?

Am I the only person that didn't know the ///M has a different bonnet!?

No Edd, your certainly not. I had no idea either and there's an E85 2.5 lives around the corner that I drive passed every day.

Three catches on the M Bonnet. One in the middle and one either side that you can adjust the height on. If the standard bonnet has a different arrangement then will an M bonnet close properly? You may need to purchase and fit the catches as well.

Who ever thought modding cars would be sooooo hard and expensive lol, what ever i do i will have the Zed i have now :D
Maybe the bonet is too much, surely theres things i can more to my 2L to increses torque and BHP...help me??!??!?
I have a air scoop, K&N filter, quad pipes then a service and re-map in 3 weeks to see what that does.

See my last post above ;) won't be cheap but would be a piece of engineering and unique.

Some ///M badges on the boot and wings would compliment the look really well

Hahaha, that alone will add 10 bhp!

Twincharge the 2.0? (Super charger and turbo charger) ;). Volvo have made a 300hp 2.0 doing this.

That way you get power of a larger turbine and decent response, keep your engine and do away with the chocolate manifold :)

VAG had that with their 1.6 a few years ago.

But imo doing it aftermarket is too expensive.. and the i dont really see the point of it.. as turbo tech has developed so much in recent years that a single twin scroll is more efficient and easier to apply.. and give you the benefit of both low down rpm power and high end power.

Also the piping to power a turbo from the lower half of the engine and then power the SC from some belt system would be massively complex, then you would need some clever piggyback electronics between the two.

Personally i would throw a SC in.. you could prob keep your exhaust, and cat as you wouldnt have the increased backpressure from a turbo, and the SC would be much easier to install, especially with the vast amounts of space you have at the front of the engine.

Even running tiny amounts of boost will make the car feel much faster, and in the real world adding another 50-75 lb ft of torque to equal that of a 3.0 will make it feel and be faster then any 3.0 (150 lb- ft standard for the 2.0 vs 220 for the 3.0 M54 or 232for the N52 si) Also the 2.0 being lighter and the power delivery being lower in the rpm will make it into a pretty epic machine.

However the costs of adding FI to your 2.0 will make your current mod budget pale into insignificance... at least 10-15K if your are letting someone else do it all... without adding an allowance for any hiccups.

Pahahaha

One of the graphic designers on here should do a ///JE badge
Here you go... this should take at least 1s of the 0-60 time

I love the M bonnet too, I think of all the differences its the best looking.. Just too expensive a mod to warrant unfortunately..

In a word NO!
You have created a unique looking vehicle, put the M bonnet on it and it will take no time at all till you want an M front bumper so it all looks right and then what do you have, but a M lookalike.
Sometimes less is more.

JE I am going to make something for your bonnet when i get home tonight. It will look REEM think RS turbo from the 80s.

 Bugger scrap that then Jonny!!!

I once knew a guy who bought an Escort Bonus (yes that long ago) and over the course of three years bought all the bits to turn it into an XR3.
We did point out that he was paying twice what he needed to get the car he wanted, but ultimately he was happy changing one bit at a time; I guess he was your Dad Johnny... :D

Perhaps we're all misunderstanding what JE is after as, according to Urban Dictionary

A "Bonet" is of female gender, 5-17 years of age, beautiful and out there! :hairdryer:

No offence but you have a Quad and a M front i only have a quad so what would be the difference fella?

Think what Richard is trying to point out is that as you keep saying, you want your car to be unique. The more ///M parts you add, the less unique it will become.

Can it ever be 100% unique if you buy all the bits off the shelf? Jonny you need to find someone to do some one off custom body work for you :poke: :fuelfire:
