Do i buy a Z4m ??

hey guys i dont know if you remember me from my post about the slk amg v z4m

well ive just gave my ST a little ding in the back bumper ( any one know the best way to fix it/who to fix it) its made me think maybe its a sign to get rid.

ive looked alot at the slk amg and realistically i dont think i can afford it , in most cases they are upto £7000 more than the Z4.

i still owe finance on my ST so looks like i'm going to have to trade in to get rid , i have a year left on it . ( am i better waiting a year?)

i was wondering if any one on here new any places selling a z4 m , ive checked pistonheads , autotrader and sent a few emails.

any advice etc will be extreamly greatfull

Focus ST? Best puttings some details up on your ST, so I can avoid it :D

Looking to trading in my Z4C next years for a ST.

lol... its in good condition apart from this , just unlucky i guess. why would you want to trade the z4 in for an ST lol, i dont think i could buy an ST now knowing there is a focus RS

ST is still a great hot hatch and it can be easilly fettled to be quicker than the RS. There's a few Z4ms about for sale on Pistonheads and Autotrader. Good time to buy especially the roadster. Usual caveats apply, full BMW service history including the important 1200 mile service. Also be aware that many 'lower mileage' cars are getting close to inspection 1 which is £600+ usually.

Looks understated and fast, when modded to 300bhp

Not keen on the RS, looks too chav.

whats the grade one inspection ??

yeah true they can be tweaked to 300bhp but i cant see in any way how they would put that power down , unless you have an endless amount of road it will spin everywhere. my St does now and its only 225.

apparently all new orders on ST's now come with a higher spec and black wheels as standard, i think its to mark the last of the 2.5 turbo versions as future ST's will be sold with a 2.0 turbo to meet stiffer emmission laws.

My brother wants an ST-3 in orange. I keep trying to talk him out of such FWD chavvy nonsense. He'll have to pay about 12k for the privilege too - a grand more than I paid for my Z.

The ST is a lovely car and the 5-pot volvo engine is a cracker, i dont get the chav comments whe surely any how hatch is going to fall into that relm eventually when the lower levels can afford them.
If i was on the look out for a fast, comfortable, practical car it would be on top of my list, not everyone can get away with having a 2-seater.

are futre St's going to be 2.0T , the engine in mind is lovely . probs the main reason i bought it , i test drove most of the hatches VXR , Type R etc and it was the best. i wouldnt dream of getting it to 300bhp though , waste of time and expensive to when your going through tyres quicker than an F1 car

Finance - still something i've never been able to get my head around :?

The Focus wouldn't be top of my list. The ST has terrible fuel economy from what i've read. I can think of cars that cost around the same which would be a better buy.

A Z4M is a rare car, im sure bargains are few and sellers will know that if a buyer really wants one they will pay a good price for it. Best a luck finding one :)

If your car has finance owing on it, simply get the buyer to pay the finance off, and pay you the remainder. That's what I did when I bought my Z, and it was no issue. In fact, it's very common nowadays.

With very good cars at £25K and less for Coupes and £22K and less for Roadsters I think they are all bargains when compared to what else is available for that money.

Even the sub £20K cars with higher mileage and a bit of wear n tear are worth considering.

Get yourself some free valuations from the likes of Whatcar, Parkers etc.., accept that you'll end up, at this stage, paying the finance company most of the value of your outstanding payments, as well as the full amount of any balloon (if you have one), so deduct all that, then decide whether, with whatever money is left in your car, plus what you have or want to borrow, the finances work.....if so, JFDI.

i dont think il ever get finance again id rather get a loan , finace is just a stinger.

yeah the ST's fuel isnt good at all, i think the z4m wont be much worse if i'm honest.

i really had my heart set on the slk becuase of the v8 but the prices just wont budge , they are the same now as they were a year ago.

what does the z4 top out at with the limiter removed ??

about 170, apparently. :?

there's an ESS Stage 1 Supercharger kit coming in the Spring for 450bhp at £3995inc VAT for the kit, and Stage 2 is £1500 which adds an intercooler.... 550bhp. :!:

I'll be getting stage 1 in the Spring along with the remap (removed limiter). Should be good fun. 8)
