Are ALL parts for an e89 still available from BMW? I know some manufacturers (like Porsche )are great at committing to supplying parts for their Out of production models. While other makes like Alfa are really poor - just ask an Alfa Spider owner if they can get a new roof motor?!! Alfa stopped making them a while ago. And Mercedes have stopped making some parts for even a 2010 SL R230. There's a lot of SL owners unhappy as they can't get a new Battery control module any longer and no one else makes an equivalent part..When the BCM fails they are having to scrap the car. It's worth thinking about as our cars get older. I know 3rd party suppliers offer alternatives but not for every part.
