Do any VIN decoders still work?

I’m trying to find out the spec on my 2010 E89 35i. WBALM2000E410658

Specifically and firstly, I want to find out the name or code of the interior leather.

None of the VIN decoders that I have tried online seem to work.

It would also be nice to confirm what other features it has. Mine doesn’t seem to open or close its roof using just the key. I had assumed all E89s can do this, no?

TIA

You need to to type 17 digits into a vin decoder not 16.. :poke: :headbang:

Thanks.

I know I could go to my main dealership in Lincoln with the key to get a VIN decode but it’s a bit of a pain.

Is there just a list of leather interiors options in the meantime e.g If I saw the names, I could know what mine.

Thanks

Thank you.

I’m actually glad it does have too much superfluous ‘stuff’ (although it seems to have enough). It’s a manual sports car. :driving:

Interestingly, why doesn’t it mention the extended leather on the dash etc. I thought that was an extra, no?

I don’t think my roof is opening on the key, despite having a £750 roof repair and service in July!

Again, I might be doing something wrong. I thought you just had to hold the ‘OPEN’ button on the key fob for a longer time for the roof to then open?

The interior of your car is BEAUTIFUL. High-end stitching, dark wood and nappa leather seats.

Just like mine. :)

It’s in good condition too as only 47k miles on the clock and mostly owned by quite quiet a petite woman. So, very little wear on the driver’s bolster. There a bit of very light scratching on the passenger seat leather. I want to address both which is why I wanted to check the interior colour.

Yes just keep the open button pressed until the roof has completed its full cycle, obviously the boot luggage cover has to be pulled over, also if the battery is a little discharged then the roof won’t open, try opening the roof after the car has had a good run, or put it on charge overnight.

Thank you. Will try again tomorrow. I know the car battery itself is fully charged because it’s been on an Accumate conditioner and showing green light.
I’ll try the full cycle thing.

On 'BMW VIN DECODER from bmwvin.com, mine, which looks like yours, is "EXCLUSIVLEDER NAPPAELEFENBEINWEIS (LZEW)." In other words, Ivory White Nappa.

YES! That has worked!

After allowing it to do a normal cycle once, it now opens on the key. :D Thank you very much!

I dont think any work anymore ? I'e been trying mdecoder for weeks now, it always says daily limit reached. bimmerwork just refreshes continusly and resets every time it reaches 0.

I've just tried these and they worked for me.

https://web.vinwiki.com/#/search

The above should get you the vin no from the registration number.

https://bimmer.work/

The above should give you the spec from the vin number.
As I said it worked for me so hopefully will work for others :D
