I am looking to buy a new or used DME (ECU), so before trying to purchase elsewhere, I decided to ask you first.

I am specifically looking for a DME from a BMW Z4 (2003–2005), 2.2 liter, manual transmission (5-speed). Only this exact specification, please.

The DME must be in perfect working condition.

Thank you in advance,
Mac

I’ve got a compatible DME from a 2.5

Would help if you could share your current part number but searching for the 2.2 on Realoem pulls back the attached numbers:

Thanks to all for quick respond. Part number is: 12147561381, so @Street you are correct :).

@GenZed Are you ready to sell yours? If it's the same as mine and it's working, I'm ready to buy it.

@macguy - I assume you are aware it'll need a bit of coding work to operate properly in your car.
VIN update doesn't seem to be essential, but you do need to tell it not to talk to the EWS any more, or the car will turn over but not fire up.
Both I and @bigwinn have the necessary tools to do this if you needed it? There may be others that I am not aware of as well.

I was talking with @bigwinn , and he told me that we can do this together, by video call or something. I purchased DME from @GenZed – currently waiting for it to arrive by post. I also ordered a USB-OBDII cable to connect to my laptop. @bigwinn sent me the software link, and I think that’s everything I need, right?

Possibly would work. I tried using the software link on two laptops and it is definitely a one use application. So you may have an issue there?
I'm sure @bigwinn has tried it before though.
Or did you mean, for you to purchase the software yourself, in which case, no problems.
