I have a DLV box and I absolutely love it massive improvement to the car and really brings it to life (from a sound perspective), have had it for almost 3 years and I still smile when I hear it :wub:
We vid to give you an idea of the sound, worth noting, the connecting sleeves that Mike provided rotted out of mine and I had to take it to an exhaust place to have a stainless steel sleeve welded on in place, this is def the best option.

If you want to hear the exhaust, then what's not to like? My son got a DLV mod on his zed, I liked it and got one on mine - though I asked Mike to tone mine down a bit, which he did. We're very happy with them. I'm sure he still does them, but I also know there's a few hours work in doing them. Not sure if those photos are maybe from some early versions he did, as he uses straight pipe and not flexi. So I didn't want this thread to turn into 'should I have a DLV exhaust', more of is there a decent exhaust place in Sussex that can do this.
I've heard It's Joel and his back box delete and that wouldn't be great for a daily driver, so the DLV is the best compromise between a full on expensive system and the frankly muted sound if the standard system.

From what I see, on the pictures provided, is that originally the pipes were not connected internally and allowed the gases to percolate through the fiberglass "wadding" before exiting a separate set of pipes....thus that's how you get the silencing. By directly joining the entry and exit pipes with some convoluted flexible piping all you are doing is effectively removing the back box (there are no holes in convoluted tubing....small leaks maybe, but no holes). Any difference you hear is probably down to what you want to hear, and only a properly conducted sound test will produce convincing evidence one way or another. I stand to be corrected but there's no way that system can produce any less noise than just whacking on a couple of bits of m/s pipe in place of the back box....but it's your money.
hastings classic custom exhausts do a good job. I had a muffler delete done there and the welds, tips etc are nice and they offer a lifetime guaranty. I don’t know if they would cut your oem box open but I know they have alternatives. I’m hoping to book in soon myself.dhobbs said:
