Waaay back in the day, I used to DJ at some bars in Brooklyn. I don't have any of my old equipment any more and would like to play around again. Does anyone happen to use any thing that's worth recommending? I'm not looking for anything real fancy. Just something that's easy to use and has simple features. I don't plan on doing parties any more, I just want to make some CD's for myself.

I've personally mixed with AtomixMP3 and VirtualDJ. They are both made by the same developer and have similar interfaces, but VirtualDJ is definitely the more professional of the two. Atomix is a little easier to use, but VirtualDJ has more bells & whistles. Even without actual equipment, you can still put together a good mix with a keyboard and mouse.

They are licensed software that you have to pay for -- BUT -- if you know where to look, you can probably find cracked copies for free (*cough* bittorrent *cough*)
