DIY Wheel refurb

obewan Sorry to bring this up after 2 years but I have looked on line and there are different types/colours of silver Autotex. Does it say 'silver wheel paint' on the tin. And did you use any old primer? Thank you, Mike.

Hi MikeyH
No problem at all. I've still got a tin in the garage (not sure why as it's virtually empty )
It doesn't actually say Silver on the tin, just 'Alloy Wheel Paint' and it has a silver cap.
There is a code on the tin: ATOOALW500 (the 'O's') after AT could be zero's but they are larger than the 500 ones.
A VOC number: 2004/42/11B(e)(840)651
Also a company Tel No: 0161 6270101

There is a barcode serial number, but assume that's not much use to you?

For the primer I used Autotex's.
They had 2 types, 1 for alloy wheels and 1 for steel wheels. IIRC the one for steel wheels had better 'etching properties' according to the guy in the shop.

Hope that helps
Steve
