I know exactly what you mean mate The steering wheel is the thing you have most contact with in the car and you can also admire your excellent work whilst driving

Surly the tunes should be firmly off while you listen to that fantastic engine ,,and the roar of those race pipes .... you HAVE GOT THE PIPES Tom ? During this pandemic, I have made a few mods to my 2003 Z4. I was looking for a new steering wheel but re-covering is great for the budget. Did you actually have to sew the wheel cover by hand?

Yup you sew it over the top of the existing one. It's still looking great on the car
