ive put together a basic DIY on how to wrap your roof. The case study in question is different but the process is exactly the same as i demonstrate in this video. From my previous measurements, the e86 roof is roughly around 1metre or slightly less, so get this right and you'll have a lovely finish roof which will protect the original paint and it will cost you about 40 quid ( using a top end film) if you decide to go for a really cheap ebay film, you go do this for as little as 15 quid. i wouldn't advise that as we dont want any issues picking up the clear on removal down the line.
Hope my little How to helps anyone wanting to do this. Its very doable, don't be afraid to have a go, vinyl is now being used much more by manufacturers for accenting / roofs etc and installed properly will literally leave a paint like finish for half if not less of the cost. Bare in mind vinyl materials are due to hike in price soon so the per metre price may be slightly more. if anyone does have a go please post some pics of your install, would love to see people's attempts.
