Apologies if this has already been done, but I did do a search and found other DIY threads regarding Aux ports, but none the same as this.
My friend has a factory aux port on the black panel between the heater controls and the ashtray. I did not have one so was curious as to what was behind my blank panel. I found 2 RCA female connectors as pictured.

I searched eBay and found a 3.5mm to 2 RCA male connectors for £1.65 inc delivery, so thought I would give it a try. Link below.

It worked! So I removed the ashtray assy (1 screw) and drilled the bottom of the ashtray to accept the new cable. Connected the new cable to the car via the RCA connections and routed it down and under the ashtray. I cut away the bottom of what I think is the thing for putting out cigarettes on? So that the 3.5mm plug was a snug fit. This was then bonded in place and the whole thing refitted. Pics below.

I think it looks nice and neat, and only cost £1.65 and less than an hours tinker time. Again, apologies if this is old news but thought I would share anyway
