DIY 108 refurb question

I have read some cracking write ups on here from some of you brave lot. They all look great.

Although, no one seems to have done anything themselves with the 'stars'. Is it possible to follow the same process on the stars if I'm just looking for a hyper silver type look.

The reason I ask is that a couple of my stars have started to bubble a little bit.

Yes you can paint the stars no problem.. here is mine

i chose a slightly darker silver to standard

I think if you're refurbing 108s, unless you get an exact match for OEM (which is very tricky), you're better taking the opportunity to go custom

Mine are done in grey sparkle - a mid/dark grey that lights up in the sun

did you do them yourself and do you have to use specialist paints or is it just summat in a can you can buy from anywhere?

v v good advice Mr A , ,i bought a set off forum friend & set about them , , ,sold the tyres for almost what the wheels stood me at so nothing to lose ,
spent £55 on top quality paints & lacquers etc & then min 12 hours hard labour, , ,
yes i ended up with a decent looking set of 108's but not worthy of going on my zed :o the lack of polished rim spoilt the effect for sure
fortunately i had already been offered a set of M wheels so i knew the 108's weren't staying
cue our fav internet auction site & they were gone in a blink , ,luckily a profit of £100 ish but could have been a disaster
a latvian chap is collecting them tomorrow & they will be in deepest europe by the end of the month
so for the reference if you want a pro finish ? ? get a pro to do it

Thanks guys. Deka, did you use a paint gun or just a spray can? You got great looking results.
.

Straight from a rattle can.... hapfords standard wheel paint, just slightly different colour
