DIY 107 refurb with pics...

So, picked up my 107's last night from fearless.

Had a good look at them this morning, and they are actually in really good condition, apart from a couple of marks on 3 of them.

So, as the weather was crap today, I thought, sod it I'll have a go at these myself, how hard can it be..

So, armed with some cellulose stopper, 800 & 1200 wet'n'dry, I made a quick call to a friend of mine with a bodyshop. He agreed to meet me there this morning with a wheel, which he scanned and then made me up 250ml of paint to match :D

Home, and cleaned the damaged areas with thinners before applying stopper before lunch..

Little bit of light work with the wet'n'dry and then out with the airbrush...

Dried with infrared light and then polished whole wheels by hand with a 3000 disc, followed by the DA with meg's 105 & 205.

Finished with SRP and Topaz..

I think they look good enough to go on now!

A friend with a bodyshop mixed it for me, think it's cellulose, as he said it wouldn't need a lacquer, and would polish up easily with the DA. Colour match is good, although the finish is not perfect, probably down to my painting skills, although from 3 or 4ft away, I have to say they do look perfect.

They look great, I have 108's and 107's and both will need a refurb at some point, my 108's are showing a bit of bubbling if you look for it.
