After owning my Z4 for 5 weeks, I've finally ditched the runflats - before they put me in a ditch. Since buying the car, I've been trying to find out why it drives me, instead of me driving it. I sold my Z3 to buy this (2006 2.5 sport) & I was really starting to regret it, due to the Z3 was far better to drive that this car & the interior quality of plastics was much quieter. I checked all steering, suspension, bushes, balljoints, wheel alignment & tried every possible combination of tyre pressures possible, but found nothing actually wrong - so it must be the tyres. The car would hop around, all over the road, pulling left & right completely at random & needed a firm two hands on the wheel at all times. I've read they're a bit skittish but this was bloody awful. I've always been a believer in good quality tyres, so after seeing a cheap, full set of Nexen tyres, exactly my size, I was a bit apprehensive - never used these "made in Korea" tyres before. Anyway, the car was just sooo bad to drive, I had to give them a try......
Oh my bloody god - what a difference!!!!! I am actually enjoying the Z4 now. (Still got to sort out all those interior creaks
)
Bridgestone Re050s were just sooooo rubbish, I cant believe how anyone can prefer them to "proper" tyres.
Also, the weight difference is HUGE.
I'm sure some people will come back saying they've never had a problem but I for one, will never want them on my car again.
