Might get more (or any) responses posting in the model-specific forum...

Thanks
As a brand new newbie I'm trying to learn.
Trying to get info, as I'm narrowing my weeks long search for my first Z4.

E89 (2016) has basic cruise, and it was a cost option! And I can still never remember which way to push/pull/ flick the lever for 'set, cancel, resume', etc. Steering wheel cruise buttons are SO much easier than a silly stalk which you can't see when driving! :headbang:
Don't think any E series BMWs had radar (adaptive) cruise control. Only F series and later.
Adaptive cruise is a PITA in my opinion, having had it on three cars!

It’s not a basic cruise…it’s cruise with brake adaption..difference being that if you say come into Newcastle on the A1 in the 40 mph average speed roadworks down the steep incline…once set at 40 mph it stays at 40 mph…without brake control it would tend to accelerate to probably 50-55 mph :tumbleweed:

That answers that.
Thanks
Here in west texas on the interstate I really liked the set distance on BMW series 5 adaptive cruise.
Driving into Fort Worth when getting into heavier traffic it is a game changer - no braking then resume. But if Z4 doesn't it doesn't.

Have to buy a G29 for adaptive cruise I’m afraid, or move to somewhere where you never use cruise….like where I live..
