Dissappearing screenwash fluid

Take the bumper cover off and find out exactly where it's leaking. It's a less than 15 minute job.

Gaffer tape is a waste of time and will never help.

My suspision is that one or more of the clamps is leaking. They are push fit and have locking clips and will probably just need cleaning up and reseating.

Anything else at this stage is just chucking money at it unsighted

OK, but what is the 'bumper cover'...do you mean something at the front of the bumper,... or the fog light access point just in front of the wheel which I already had a look through ?

The bumper cover correctly titled 'Bumper Trim', is the cosmetic cover which goes from side to side, bonnet to front lip and covers all the impact parts of the bumper.

Here's what My car used to look like and with the cover off showing the bumper and crash protection behind it (note the washer jet hose that you'll be after sorting out)

Here's a different colour one on to ilustrate the location

and here a view of the connector that I bet is the source of the leak (well at least first place to look)

Slightly o/t, but iirc wasn't there a problem with these units if you didn't have a strong enough screenwash antifreeze? I.e. water freezing, expanding, then they don't close properly?

The pumps themselves are £43 (when I replaced one of them)

Taking the Bumper off sounds scarier than it is... There is an excellent how-to on here by mister_roger :D

I have a perfectly good one in the garage, with a broken bracket on the top, that I could let you have for the postage (or where are you?)... you would need to butcher your existing ones and I suppose it depends on where it is leaking from...

Don't think they are side specific but mine came from the right hand side...

I might take you up on that. I'm near Croydon so I can't be that far from you. Thanks I'll give you shout if I can't fix what I've got. What's happened to the bracket on yours, is that an issue ?

Croydon to redhill not far at all :D

the bracket missing means the washer cover doesn't fix to the washer pump :(

I'd be happy to lend you a hand taking the bumper cover off provided my kitchen extension gets finished soon!

My coupe has just decided to start doing this- suddenly found that when the headlight wash has been activated the passenger side headlight wash is leaking. The washers still activate. Did most people find it was a hose or the pump?
