The bin? Thought restrictions were only on fluids and tyres?

Yep it all goes to a licenced processor (or China!) so they will sort and deal with anything they have to
We have scrapmen driving around locally collecting all manner of scrap, washing machines, tumble dryers but not fridges, always picks up what I leave out by my gate, old discs, batteries and the like. Saves me a trip to the tip which under Covid needs pre-booking. We have a local community Facebook site and can always post on there to get the scrapmen to call by as they are members.
Metal scrap dealer for anything metal.
Always risk our local HWRC refusing car bits as they’re not considered ‘household’ waste.
Plastic/rubber parts are a nightmare if not small enough to go in your bin

What? - our council tips will take any metal from you its a revenue stream selling it on for processing. Some items you have to pay to tip mostly DIY building materials but not garden waste. Oil no problem but try tipping tins of paint and all the workers are running towards you in hazmat suits

Yes my local authority 'recycling centre' (or rubbish tip as it is more correctly titled) has tried to charge me for metal car parts which is a bloody cheek since as you say, they sell it for scrap. Getting rid of car bits, ceramics and the paint tins turns in to a game of cat and mouse with ze' guards :wink:

We're ok to put paint tins in the recycling bins, provided that they are empty and have been left with the lids off until the residue is completely dried out.
As for old car parts, that's easy, I clean them up, create a slightly dubious account on this forum and sell them on...................allegedly of course (in case anyone is Snooping around :wink: )

We replace air conditioning with new and all the old stuff, we reclaim all the nasties and then they go for recycling , so we have regular weekly visits . I just tell our driver of the discs , parts etc in the usual spot and he collects them on the way to the recyclers . Gets his dog food money from it.........
