Dismantling the ECU - Power steering - Z4 E89 23i

Hello everyone,

I think my electric power steering motor with its ECU has failed, and I want to take it apart to send it for testing and repair.

My main question: what is the easiest way to remove the motor myself?

Is it possible to remove it without removing the rack?

For information, my car is a Z4 E89 23i from March 2010.

AFAIK it’s the whole rack..there’s no guidance on just removing the ECU
