Dislodged Soft Top Trim

Hi guys

I'm just making a small list of bits to tidy up having picked up a Z4MR just under a week ago.

One thing I've noticed is when the roof goes up and down it unseats a bit of the trim at the side - see pic:

Anyone any ideas on how to fix? Not sure if common or not (not seen anyone else with it).

Cheers

If you open the roof fully you can see that this piece is part of a rather large rubber "cowl" covering the top of the roof post. This can easily be removed by pulling upwards and using a flat head screwdriver unclip it (these clips are quite hard to open so a little force is needed)

Remove and clean up. Then check the panel where it slides into, the chances are it is full of crap! Obviously this will need to cleaned out well as to accommodate the return of the trim.

The trim slides into the other trim where it meets, but be careful pulling the other trim as this is part of the roof itself and could tear it where it connects to the fabric! :o Should be fine though.

Cheers, tug

Thanks tug - weather has taken a turn for the worse here so might leave just now and look to sort with your instructions when it dries up!

Just to update - I went into this today and cleaned up the bit that was sticking up. I've re-attached it to where it should be so in hopeful it's fixed now. If not I'll pull a bit more out and re-seal the whole lot.
