DISABLE THE SEAT BELT ALARM

This always has the same response when this is posted, never gets anywhere.

For whatever reason (& thats up to me as I physically own this machine), I'd kill to turn mine off too.

With the Autologic kit (specalists in the UK) with which you can add the roof up / key features, my Indi tried all sorts to disable the alarm, even recoding it saying there was no chime fitted - which he said looked to be the solution.

Alas, mine still goes off at the smallest slightest noise. And my dog hates me for it.

Im sure the hand brake trick only works on pre-facelifts.

Could you not buy a spare buckle from a breakers and leave that connected.

The handbrake trick is handy. I dont condone doing this if carrying a passenger. However, it can be useful if you are driving solo and have a bottle of water on the seat.

"Wear your seatbelt" is not even a proper response to this thread.

If there are no other plausible ways to stop the beeping noise, I'd say it is a pretty reasonable response to this thread.

jan_tekin, i like ur creative thinking...
andy... agreed... it just serves to agitate me.
waste of good forum space for some

should of just researched it myself. for anybody who actually is interested, not these people who think wearing their seatbelts in a parking garage is mandatory...:poke: here's the answer. I went ahead and tried it out myself just to be sure.
Go through your glovebox to get to the fuse box, pull out the fuse installer first, then yank out fuse no. 28 (5amp). put ur fuse installer back in and reseal ur glovebox (make sure to turn the bolts back to the originating spot or ur glove box will not close and u could damage the fuse layer. Here's your diagram, with pictures. ENJOY!!!!!!!!

Smart move... fuse 28 is also used by the cruise control, MFSW and rain sensor...
no its not, not in the american version M. fuse 28 is only for seatbelts. and american M cars dont have rain sensors so that doesnt matter. my cruise control still works, i checked it. So maybe I should reiterate by saying only use this fix if you have an american model, not a euro model.

Ha ha, Think i would prefer to keep my cruise and buckle up........

Interesting point mitrajoon, this side of the pond you'd would probably get a ticket from the police if you got caught not wearing a seat belt in a car park as it is a public place and rules of the road apply.
