DISA Valve - Prices

Hi all,

So my DISA is on it's way out. No springback in the flap at all, it just moves when you push it. Vacuum pump is dead I guess.

Anyway... as the DISA refurb kits don't seem to deal with that failure mode (right?) I'm looking at new.

£215 inc vat & del from Soapers BMW

Anyone know a cheaper price (I know they were cheaper a few years back, but alas, the DISA on my timemachine has failed too...)

Cheers

James

IIRC the i6 rebuild kit should work, give them a call they know their stuff it's much cheaper than a new valve and also will be longer lasting

If the vacuum diaphram is broken (disa doesnt hold its position when you block off the vacuum hole like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Rc-nOkYTkc ) then a normal disa fix kit (like from I6) doesnt help.
There is a vacuum fix kit from https://vanos-bmw.com/disa-bmw-repair-kits but fixing the vacuum diaphram isnt an easy fix.

When you want to buy new, you can get a Febi rebranded one for £85 at misterauto:
http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/en/control-valve-air-intake/febi-bilstein-46424_g1305_a10146424.html
(note: this is for the 3.0i; for the 2.5i/2.2 there is a different one available
Maybe even cheaper shops can be found.

I'm guessing for a part that complicated that they are 100% the same (I dont think there is a second factory that makes that part and that febi just buys in bulk and redistributes)

Guys, thank you thank you thank you!

Definitely going to look into that Febi kit, but I'm not sure the Koch link gives enough information to know it's a DISA, and for the 3 litre?

I'd rather new non oem, than bodged original. I think!
