Disa replacement

Hi everyone

Thinking about replacing the DISA in my old dolly as she's done nearly 73k now so it's probably on its way out by now. Can anyone recommend a source for the uprooted version rather than sticking in a New Stock BMW one?

Cheers.

This is the repair kit
Unsure about a complete unit

Thank you, I think that's what I'm after, is it a fairly easy job to do?

Yes it's quite easy . Did a check on mine and it was worn so got the one of these and fitted it. It's a worthwhile update that took about half and hour.

I bought one with the intention of my Indy fitting it at service, but upon inspection of my current unit he said there was no play in it, so it was left an then traded with mm

Quite easy to do see this thread

i used that repair kit and it's not as easy as some make out.

first job need to remove air pipe.

then unplug the valve.

undo the 2 torx screws.

remove unit in a horizontal motion (will be a bit stiff).

now comes the hard part. removing the plastic bit under the cover. you need to pull with pliers as well as in the middle lever it out with a screwdriver. it wouldn't budge with just pliers. getting the bolt out was easy.

the next hard part was sticking all the new parts in whilst ensuring the disa valve operated full motion and freely. mine was rather stiff, had to lube it all up. i didn't bother replacing the orange seal it looked perfect to me. in fact the whole valve looked perfect tbh. didn't even need doing.

i would take a look first before attempting it. might not even need done.

I must admit I thought I would check it first as its not making any noise or showing any other symptoms.
