DISA kit

Developed a slight DISA rattle in my m54 - should i go for a DISA kit or replace with oem? which kit is good? Happy to do it myself but don't want to get rubbish and they all look the same to me
located in Oz
cheers!

I used the X8R kit and it is very well engineered.
Then I saw some on Ali express for much much less. Thought I’d give one a go. Works just as well. It needed a light filing on the top edge of the flap to prevent it sticking so obviously tolerances in manufacturing aren’t so good. But it was over £50 cheaper and took an extra five minutes to sort.
Be aware that the 2.2/2.5 disa is shorter than the 3.0, so get the right one

I don't know where you're located (I'm stateside), and I'm not sure of this company's overseas shipping policies. However, I've found their products/support to be VERY high quality. I bought my Z4 3.0 this past summer with only 20K miles on the clock, and yet fitted one of thier DISA kits to my OEM DISA primarily for preventative maintenance/improvement.
It might be worth sending an email to them with shipping questions.

I would far more trust a rebuilt DISA with one of these kits, over a new OEM, (which still contains the inferior flap design).

Good luck! 👍

Yes, the UK X8R DISA Kits appear to be similar quality to the German Auto Solutions stateside offering...
You'd be golden with either kit.
I would still prefer an OEM DISA valve rebuilt with one of these kits over a new (original design) OEM DISA.
