I'm very pleased to say that in her 3rd year of uni, being awarded her 1/2 colours and just been presented with the University Union Fellowship Award, given to the student who has demonstrated an outstanding degree of commitment and initiative during their time at the university..... err no!

Besides, the car cost peanuts to run compared to her! :cry:
 
So change to an e89 28i, how much is the VED on that, £170.00 or so, but no you want a "special Zed" so you have to pay the extra M tax :D
 
one polish guy has mr2 in the estate i live in ... he only drives it in the estate and it used to raise my eyebrow... until I found out he bought himself a fast car and did not pay for tax ... what kind of a logic is that ?
 
Got home yesterday and Postman Pratt had delivered my reminder - luckily the Alpina is classed as PLG so only £225 for the year :thumbsup:

Yup for CO2 reasons :x a much fairer and logical system would be to put all taxes through fuel prices, pay for what you use.

I thought you folks already pay a tax at the fuel pump. And is why you pay double or more for petrol as compared to the USA. I suppose I will have to make everyone feel bad now. In Washington State. My annual reg. tax is 13 quid for the Zed. In Germany I register for a 2 yr period and pay 120 Euro.
 
I just think its a couple of hundred pounds extra over a normal car, not its £500!

I am happy to pay £200 extra for the M!

£500 still hurts in a oner though!

This is Rip-Off Britain! We have to pay to keep the bankers in the manner to which they have become accustomed as well as all and sundry on benefits.
 
To be honest. We in the USA are headed down the same road as Britain. We have a population that has the ability to explain all the complex operations and associated circuitry of their iPhone. Or what the Kardashians had for lunch every day last year. But should you ask a person under thirty yrs old their opinion on the Bengazi hearings in congress. or what to do about government spending. Their eyes glaze over. And one can hear the crickets chirping from the lack of brain activity. Yet the same folk that seem to not have an opinion about any thing political insist on voting. They invariably will vote for the politician that promises to give them the most of other peoples money. We seem to be our own worst enemies.
 
Odd, I just paid mine and paid £475 for it (starting May 1, bought mid April).

It's not though is it. I don't mind paying tax as long as its been used for the public good. £475 is taking the piss and claiming its part of the ticket price to 'get on the ride' is exactly what the political class want. It should go on fuel, the more you use the more you'd pay...
