Not mine however i have been watching Copart website to see when my car goes up forsale and this one has come up so far. Would be a chap Z4 for someone even if just for parts..

Must admit not much spec to it but hey someone looking to get a cheap one as a project it would be good.

Seems cheap - BUT Copart fees are ridiculous!

It’s not too bad, but you do have to take it into account.. apart from yearly membership fee (was £50 a few years ago), if it goes for £2000 the fee is £173 (buyer fee) + £7.50 (to bid online, free at a copart centre) + £15 (to move the vehicle for collection) all + VAT.
What I would want to know is, how, or why, do cars that are not insurance write-offs end up in copart!

!!! Like I said, you take it into account, it’s part of the price, and not “too bad” if your getting the car for a reasonable price anyway, £2234.60 isn’t “too bad” on a car worth possibly 4k, is it.
British Car auctions charge £396 on a £2000 hammer price, or £231 for members.

No not getting it back just keeping an eye out for the old girl.

Z4 has had to take a back seat for the moment I'm afraid, I'm now saving to buy a house and my commute to work and back is 90miles a day. So for the moment I have a nice Audi A3 to keep costs down.

As soon as I've moved I will be on the hunt for a Z4 again

I had my Z3 M coupe written off by Aviva and end up on copart, i think it was a few weeks before it was listed.
I wanted to buy it back but lost out to another bidder, it was back on the road within a few weeks and eventually ended up with a friend, the buyer offered it to me for what it cost to buy and repair, but I had already moved on to another car so a friend had it, wish it was still mine with the way they increased in price shortly after, went for £7500 on copart and I was offered it for £8500 (insurance paid me £10500 and I kept the private plate, it cost me £9k with the plate).

It ended up with Copart because the insurer has a deal with Copart that means all their write-offs go to Copart, who pay the insurer a pre-agreed amount - typically a percentage of the write-off settlement.

Back when I was handling motor claims in the early 80s my employer had a panel of salvage buyers who were invited to make a bid by a specified date - they got much more for desirable stuff, but less for the dross!

Mind you it was great for staff - we could buy it if we bid more than the salvage buyers. I got a couple of good stolen/recovered ones cheap! :lol:
