Digital speedo readout coding

This is one upgrade that I would like .. both our minis have digital speedo read outs and use this feature all the time

I have just found out that this can be enabled on the Z4 e89 .. have seen the pictures, Has any one successfully complete this on this forum ?

Look like I can get a App for my phone to allow me to select all the different coding options, or do the think BMW dealer could do it for me .. I will ask them tonight.

I like it in the mini but its a bit different layout to the Z, the speedo is in the middle of the dash instead of right in front of you.
You do however get used to reading a digital speedo (its on the mini and my bike) and it would be good to have it on the screen in front of you.

I had it coded for a while but never used it so removed it again.

It was very easy to do with the app. There's a few other useful setting in the app so it's well worth it.

The functions I have used are disable the seatbelt chime, lowering the fuel warning range (gets annoying in the 35i with it coming at 1/4 tank) and disabling the headlight washers.

Its strange that BMW do not offer this service, or the car does not have its own ability so the user/owner can adjust the code options

I went to BMW and knew nothing about it .. said it cant be done and that no option exists, then I showed them this thread and they said we will check it out ! then I asked a so called BMW genius ! errmm ... lets leave it at this point.

I do wonder when these models get launched what detailed dealer training do the people receive at the dealers ?

Any way just waiting for the interface plug to arrive ..

Nick in the past I've found dealers have told me it is not possible to do certain things on the car, that you then go find a handy forum member and voila you can.

These were simple things like making the indicator blink three times when you tap it once for example... I did question their capabilities at that point in time.
