Digital dipstick on pre-facelift models

Can’t find info anywhere, do the pre facelift models have a digital oil level readout in addition to the physical dipstick?

It would be engine dependant, but no I don't think so.

Just buy an Audi mate. They all have a dipstick.

Yep, I looked to buying a 30si and was surprised that there was no dipstick and an owner was to trust the electrics!!!
So far in my recent dealings with BMW's the electrics these days are on a par with Lucas or Italian cars and hence frequently fail!

There’s a back up system in case the electronic dipstick fails.

Yes I have had my share of these because I have done a bit of track work back as far as the 70's !

I believe there’s a warning light on the dash that illuminates when the engine is 1litre low on oil, this is separate from the electronic dipstick display.
