The lens is clean so why are there spots in the first picture and not in the last which was 1 hour later




 
Could be tiny dirt particles on the mirror which are being magnified by the flash.

Ah you mean the mirror providing the reflection , :oops: Agree most likely ,not a good test of a compact camera

No it's a Samsung 10X, a couple more examples which show the problem only happens indoors



 
Cant see any on that last shot with no flash.

Did the flash fire in the garage? I think it did, which would indicate its related to the flash....or light.

Have you got any that it does it on where the flash definitely didn't fire?
 
Yes I think you're correct the problem only happens when the flash is activated

BTW, I'm not as dozy as my first pic suggest :oops:
 
It's picking up dust as the sensor is struggling with the light balance when indoors. I think, the shutter is having to stay open slightly longer to compensate or something like that. I'm afraid it the probably a sensor issue with that type of camera and not much you can do about it other than playing with what settings you have.
