Digital camera £100 mark, opinions please

I'm looking for a digital camera in the £100 ish range with built in rechargeable battery and poss takes black and white pics too.
My son has a Kodak but I'm not too keen.

Any input appreciated.

I would highly recommend the middle/lower end of either the Nikon Coolpix or the Canon Powershot range - I've seen and used models from both and they produce excellent results.

I wouldn't worry too much about the B&W option as thats simple to achieve with any basic photo manipulation software, including the free, easy to use and excellent Picasa.

I would recomend this one,http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/533165/PANASONIC-DMC-FS8EB-K/tab/specification#spec as i've had two of the panasonic Lumix range the latest being the TZ7 and found them very reliable and take great pics and It does seem to have a good spec and a good price.Hope that has been of some help
