Did you change the rear brakes to stop tech and if so what size to equal out the front big brake? and what type of supercharger was that Name and number please.I'm thinking of these mods for my "Z" :)

stoptech claims that they make a "balanced brake kit", therefore fitting their front BBK is not supposed to upset the brake balance of the car and thus there's no need to upgrade the rears.

i think its BS though. for one thing, stoptech has the same part numbers for both the 2.5L and 3.0L Z4 kits although the 3.0L Z4 comes with same sized calipers but larger diameter brake discs than the 2.5L.

in all honesty, the brakes were fitted more for aesthetic reasons since i've always maintained that as long as i'm still able to activate ABS when braking hard, it implies that the limiting factor is not the stopping power of my brakes, but the grip of my tires. the brakes should come in handy on track days though as they ought to be more resistant to overheating and brake fade.

also, stoptech doesn't make a rear BBK for the Z4 although i'm pretty sure the E46 rear kit will fit, so that'll probably be my next upgrade.

as for the supercharger, it was made by Infinitas from germany, their website address is: http://www.infinitas-gmbh.de/

i actually got the most basic supercharger kit available but if you have the appetite for more, you can go with their more powerful SK1 or SK2 kits. i've always turned to Herr Dirk Ochmann for any tech or sales support and he has been nothing but helpful even though i did not purchase my kit directly from his company. if you email him direct, i'm sure he'll make suitable recommendations for your needs: [email protected]

Hi Louis, I thoroughly enjoyed the transplant tour. I do have one curiosity though: Why was the donor's block damaged and in what way and why? That's one of the toughest parts to damage.

My brother and I rebuilt the engine in my 88 Silverado late last year and the block was the one thing that was perfectly beautiful.

So, is it running better now? Looks awesome  !

here's what the seller told me:
"Basically the engine was in a car where it had front impact, hitting the air con compressor which broke the bracket."

its running really well, especially after getting it tuned! :) some small issue like having to adjust to the rather loud supercharger whine at low rpms, but otherwise, all's well.
