Difference between SE and Si specs?

do you mean pre and post facelift?

or difference between SE and Sport post facelift: here...

post facelift both SE and Sport (3.0) had the si engine as far as I know... 2.5 came in i and si variants...

SE ans SI are two different things one it to do with level of spec the other to do with the engine.

You need to compare SE with SPORT
and 2.5i with 2.5si etc.

So on a 2003 car (3.0) am I right in reading (from the linked thread):

SI = more horsepower, sports suspension, M Seats and steering wheel?
SE = standard car

Sorry, a bit confused on this?

Si = more power (early cars where 2.2i, 2.5i and 3.0i, later they replaced the 2.2i with a 4 pot 2.0i and upgraded the 2.5 and 3.0 to Si)
SE = Standard spec car
Sport = Sports suspension, M seats, Steering wheel and 18" alloys

SI = more horsepower, sports suspension, M Seats and steering wheel?
SE = standard car

si models were only available on the post facelift models. So on a 2003 3.0, you would have the 231bhp engine (as opposed to the 261bhp si model, avail from 06 onwards)

:headbang: :headbang:

You can get

2.5i sport and 2.5si sport
25.i SE and 2.5si SE

as said before 'i' and 'si' relate to the engine only 'SE' and 'Sport' relate to the specification excluding engine.

Hope that helps :)

So, is this right:
SI is only on 3.0 cars post 2006. It is just for 2.5 cars before.
All 3.0 cars are 231 bhp until the facelift came in.

Sorry, really not clear on this :roll:

Si was introduced on all models at the 2006 facelift.

yes, all pre facelift 3.0 are 231bhp

Okay, sorry for being slow. Just to make it absolutely clear for the retard (me):
• There is no such thing as a 2003 3.0Si?
• All 2003 3.0 cars are SE spec?

If they are not all SE spec then what is SE spec over non-SE spec?

Thanks :)

Yes, there is no such thing as a 2003 3.0si

When I Bought my 2003 3.0i I could find no real difference between the 3.0i and the 3.0ise on sale. Same engine, same power, same equipment. At that age I think it's got more to do with what extras were specced when the car was built.

Someone else maybe able to enlighten me on what the se had over the i? As I couldn't find anything.

1. Correct. The Si started in 2006. The 2003 3.0i is 231bhp. The Si is 260bhp (Mg Alloy Block, Valvetronic etc)
2. Yes essentially - Parkers states that all Oct03> are SE however this probably just reflects the options list available... The 3.0i had all the 'Sport' options as standard, such as the 'Sport' Button, 17" Wheels, M-Sport Lower/Stiffer Suspension. It also has a few other standard bits like Full Auto Roof, 6 Spd Box, Leather iirc.

Great thanks :rofl: Its still as clear as mud. 2004 3.0se? sport button leather seats std wheel? and 18" cuban wheels to give it a lil extra height :P cos I am only a midget.

But not the ///M style seats IIRC
