Difference between Loctite 380 and 480?

Hi all -any adhesive geeks on here?-looking at trying the Loctite 480 route for my roof as its a black adhesive,but since i have found out there is a 380 so anyone know the difference?-thanks

From what I could see 480 replaced 380. Looking at the 480 datasheet, while it's black, it's not for cloth. It states metal to metal, rubber or magnets.

If you really want to put something on it, I'd look at using a VERY small amount of rubber adhesive, the reasoning being it's flexible.

Thanks mate,but can i buy a black coloured one as i dont want a white spot on my roof?

Most rubber adhesive will dry clear or slightly brown. I'd put a tiny amount somewhere non-noticeable and let it dry. Something really simple like copydex might do it but as I said, try it in an area you won't notice after trying it on something other than the car.

Just ask for the black flexible superglue used to bond FG 1/5 scale tyres to the wheels

My previous advice on testing whatever you get on a piece of canvas off the car, then an area you won't notice on your roof first still stands
