Difference between E85 headlights

Hello, does anyone know what the difference is between the "black" headlights and the "chromed" ones? Is it just some kind of cosmetic change? Thanks.

My chrome lights were halogens, i think the black ones were fitted to the 2.5 & the chrome to 3.0 cars.

I took a quick look at some Z4s for sale. It seems like most 2.5s have black headlights and most 3.0s have chrome lights, but there are also a few 2.5s with chrome lights and 3.0s with black lights. These outliers may not have their original lights, I'm not sure...

That's right. As-new spec is: chrome lights for 3.0 cars (and 3.2 ///M presumably) , black lights for everything else; irrespective of whether halogen or xenon.

That's right, not too sure for the 3.2 tho.
Just to confirm colour-wise, you can get xenon in black and silver. And halogen can also come in black and silver.
