did your's stop dipping ?

When reversing the nearside wing mirror dips well mine did until yesterday it just stopped so no dipping any Idea's is it something stupid that I don't know about.
Suggestions welcome (please)
 
Not sure about E89 Barry,but in my 5 series the dip only worked when the mirror switch (for offside or nearside) had to be in the nearside position..

Worth a look ?
 
There's a switch that you have switched over to the other side - Something to do with which mirror you are adjusting at the time.

Whichever position it's in - try switching it to the other side :thumbsup:
 
Good diagnosis guys thanks now dipping. Guess if all else fails I should read the manual (if its in there) having worked for a German machine tool mfn for over 20 yrs I should be used to there illogical logic.
 
If its an E89 it only dips with the mirror switch to the right. By the way my horn only works with the engine running.
 
I've managed to get mine not to dip nearside wing mirror automatically but the return the wing mirrors to the memory setting when switching the engine off. Which is perfect for me as I often want the nearside wing mirror in the normal position and the offside one dipped :)
 
Sounds complicated but I'm sure you have a good reason for it. Regarding the horn don,t think I have ever used it ,but I will check it out.

Normally it will only work with the ignition on or the engine running
