Did they make a bright red 3.0 pre-face lift ?

Love my car - traditional titanium silver with black leather - looks stunning in the sunlight but my real love has always been bright solid red.
When I was searching my criteria was that it had to be a 3.0 pre face lift roadster and an absolute bonus would have been to find a bright red one - the one I found was the silver one (very low miles etc ) and as my second favourite colour is silver I went for it. Did BMW ever make a 3.0 bright red pre-facelift z4 ? Anyone got one ? Put up a photo and make me jealous!!!!

yes... bright red was an option....

there is a bright red alpina in this link:

Looks fabulous - silly question may be but what is different about an Alpina ? Is this a type of M ? presumably they were only built abroad?

It's my red Alpina Roadster S in the above link (the one without the hardtop on), the colour is Japan Red. They were available in the UK, though as with all Alpinas they only made a limited number (all have build number plaques) - they made 167 RHD models.

All Alpina Roadster S are pre-facelift and they stopped production once the Z4M was available in 2006.

In a nutshell the Alpina Roadster S is essentially a comfier version of the Z4M, similar power and performance, delimited speed but minus the LSD. It has a handbuilt 3.4L engine, 300BHP and Alpina styling - bodykit / wheels / interior.

I would of liked to have found a red one too. Though they do exist, I found that most of the red ones when I was looking were 2.5ltr models.

It wasn't a 3.0....it was a 2.5. I had it for 12 months in Bright Red (Hellrot).......before getting the ///M
