Did they fit the right tyres on my 19" Staggered?

Hi, my first post here.

I recently bought an E85 BMW Z4 2.0 Sport, it came with 18" alloys.

I bought a set of 19" alloy wheels over the internet, they are staggered, they are 8" front and 9" rear.

I took them to a tyre shop and they fitted 225/35 on the front and 235/35 on the rear.

I think the front ones are correct but am not 100% convinced about the rears, any expert opinions from other members here are welcomed.

Technically there isn't anything wrong with them going by tyrestretch.

http://www.tyrestretch.com/9.0_235_35_R18/9.0_235_35_R18/

Some may want however opt for oem fittment on the rear (255 section)

thanks all, I had a look at that link on tyrestretch which was for an 18", given my new wheels are 19", I could not see 235/35/19 combination on there or does it not make a difference in wheel diameter?

Incidentally, the alloy rim sticks out slightly from the tyre wall, which was one of the reasons I felt it was not right, there will be no protection if I accidentally curbed the wheel. Perhaps 255s are the way to go?

Yeah you definitely need a 255 or 265 on there.

I have 255's on my 10j 19'' alloys. They have some stretch.

If you fit 255s on the rear you should go for a lower profile ie 255/30/19 to keep the circumference of the front and rear wheel and tyres closer.

My apologies, I misread your original post.

Echoing exactly what Ben has said though. I'm running the same tyre setup (225) on the same wheel spec (19x10).

So ideally, I should aim for 255/30/19 on the rear which should complement the 225/35/19 on the front.

thanks, and I take it 255 should be compatible on the 9" width?

thanks again.
