Tried getting hold of chapio but no can do, with the money burning a hole in my sky rocket, I got even more. She's the mutts nuts, she has got a set of dunlops being fitted on Monday, it was like driving a roller coaster car and she's got the gaptech modular being fitted Tuesday. It's the ruby red one on autotrader and she's called Halle, after Halle Berry, cus she's black and beautiful. For the life of me I can't get a photo up on here, so I've done a link to my flikr page. Washed and polished twice since yesterday, I think I'm going to have a problem here, lol.

Looks great.

I know the feeling, my budget was £12-13k and I blew a shade over £16,000. Worth every penny if you get what u want.

Ha ha, cheers, I have been texting with the guy who sold it since, because he was a sound guy and told him I would have paid £450 more, as it had been 'no1' on my desk top for 4 weeks, lol. It's got everything I wanted except the wind deflector and coming down the motorway at a speed I won't say cus it might offend the go slow mob, I didn't really feel anything out of the ordinary, so it's all gravy. It was a shame I couldn't contact chapio but he withdrew his advert on autotrader and I had been talking to him by pm on here and he didn't get back. Which was a shame as it would have saved me a small fortune but I did get the cream leather and piano dash, which I really really wanted.

Love the contrasting leather.

My old 2.5 didn't have a wind deflector, you can live without it till you find one at the right price :)

Can't afford one now, just done a load of dough on a pioneer avh7500bt stereo and under seat base tube. I watched a video on the din 2 version and just had to have it. It's a beta version but you can have full functionality of your iPhone (by jail breaking) on the screen, meaning, the Internet , games and everything. Fitting it Friday when it comes. Here is a video if the din2 version.

I have 8 speakers in the car already and hopefully they will be able to handle the 500 watt amp that's going under the other seat, otherwise my wallet will take a good hiding again.

That looks lovely! You won't miss the wind deflector but you'll appreciate it when you fInd one. Especially if you like your tunes!

Thank you. iPod lead not working so I had to knock up some cd's for now but the sun is out and I've been blaring it out.

Congrats on the purchase. Sounds like the colour you have is Ruby Black though, no just thing as Ruby Red. Also standard speaker setup is either 6 or 10. With six speaker setup there is eight grills though.

10? I've put my ear to every speaker outlet and they are all working, foot wells, tweeters on the mirrors, door speakers and the back two, where are the other two, where did they manage to hide them, lol?

10 speaker setup has a sub woofer and tweater behind each seat, and also a tweeter, mid range and sub in the door and footwell area on each side.

6 speaker setup has tweeter in the door, plus footwell speaker (it has a grille in the door too, but no speaker behind it). It has only one speaker behind the seat, with a cubby hole instead of a sub woofer.

Now im confused, I've got the big round speakers behind me but I've got two cubby holes underneath, cubby being the word, I've never used a boot so much but I wouldn't change a thing. Do you think the speakers will handle the extra watts, it sounds great already but it's just not quite there, I used to be a dj, so it bothers me. :)

Probably had the 6 speaker set up originally and previous owner added 2 speakers in the vacant door grills making it 8. Quite a simple and common mod I believe. Don't think it would be worth buying an aftermarket amp for the standard speakers, improvement would be negligible. New speakers + new amp on the other hand would be a better bet.

You may already have a factory amp (although a bit weedy), check next to the battery in the boot.

Thanks all of you, she's mint. Andybeech, I hear you but it's taking everything apart, I bottled the stereo today and organised a firm to do it (with insurence)as the piano trim with a scratch would be a travesty. Ill try it and see, they are pretty good, it's a banging stereo, just not quite the finished article, it will be interesting to see if they can handle it and if I can notice the difference and if I do turn them inside out, I'll have to upgrade. I need a wind deflector, I've a neck stiffer than John Holmes and I mean the stiff, not his appendage, but the roof is staying down whilst the sun is poking it's head out. :driving:
