first thing to the admin. a review section would be a good idea for this forum
anyway i bought one of these off Amazon for £99 (Dice Silverline DUO-100-BMW (BMW/Mini Trunk connection) and after some reviews I’ve read i was taking a risk but after digging a bit more most of the bad reviews were with the older model.
So anyway i opened the box and the first step was to update the software. The box doesn’t contain a USB to mini USB cable but most people have dozens lying around the house. Had to register the device and update took seconds. You can read the update fix list on the dice website. its like the updates for iphone apps, it tells you what minor fixes have been made.
so my car doesn’t have a cd changer or satnav so i didn’t need the fancy intravee unit. Install took seconds. Slid a knife around the sub box behind seat and it pops out and with the carpet lifted in the boot you can see strait through. i decided to keep the unit in this gap as its easier to access than removing the lighter unit compartment if i ever update it again. I’ve also got an extension cable between the unit and my phone since i made my own spec dock which was in a HOW-TO i did a bit back.
after putting the car back together and tucking the cables away, re attached the battery and hey presto it worked. from start to finish it only took 20 min and 10 min of that was getting the front compartment in and out. sound is clear as the cd player, sound levels are almost identical to the radio and it charges my iphone
although i did have to update my phone to a newer IOS version ( had 4.0 and needed 4.3 or something like that, got 5.0.1now)
so overall im happy with the unit and for the price you cant go wrong.
