Diamond Jubilee Concert-

I'm only watching it for the fly-past. Can't beat a good fly-past :cpilot:

Huw is beginning to bore me. I can't believe he's still so chirpy after 72 hours of commentating...

What happened to your Homebase trip then? No action items for DIY?

Homebase done

Spent a lot of time looking at kitchens we don't need. And can't afford. SWMBO found a £2k cooker she likes though

Will shortly be painting patches of colour on the kitchen, bathroom and living room walls... Fun :|

See them most weekends in the summer - BBMF and sparrows just up the road - yesterday we had a low-level flypast by the Lancaster for the local picnic in the park. And I mean proper low level, none of this 1000 meters crap that London enforces :D

I remember seeing the last ever Vulcan fly-past at a passing out parade at RAF Cranwell when I was about 16. That wasn't at 1000 feet either. Was awesome. The noise made my eyeballs rattle :D

um.... making me feel old now, Bing. What year was that (we had a Vulcan and Victor at mine.....)? My father worked on Vulcans, fantastic aircraft, and very happy to see one flying these days.

Jeez, if I was 16 that would have been about 1989 I guess. Let's change the subject :D

Ouch - Feb 1989 was my passing out parade at Cranwell

back on to more interesting matters, better that the concert was this one:

Sorry, still off topic but I was at a summer graduation - my girlfriend was the daughter of the RAF Regiment commander. A right hard ass. Probably would've had me shot if he'd known what I was doing with his daughter...

;) sorry, got dates wrong there (brain cells and age is my excuse) my graduation was June 22 1989; I joined Feb 1989 - so you may have been at the same parade :P

I used to be a Concorde engineer. How's that for a claim to aviation fame :)

Loved Concorde, such a shame it was mothballed. Such a fantastic sight to see it flying.

Is that a trick question Taz ? :D

Mark - I would have been at a July or August one during school holidays. Do you remember a Squadron Leader Galbraith ?

They'd need scanned, if I had any. And none were 'tasty'. Think I destroyed them all when I got married
