Diamond cut wheels.??

Im on the hunt for a 40i z4, with quite a narrow "wish list",

ie, Harmon Kardon audio, wind deflector, heads up display etc..

Like either the red or blue cars. with the ivory leather...

And i like the shadow line plus pack, but ,,,,,, Not a fan of the jet black wheels...

So..

Has anybody had there black wheels diamond cut like the standard wheels?

If so do you have any pics of them.?

Cheers Dave.

Hi Dave, haven’t had mine diamond cut and I’m also not a big fan of black wheels, I feel they lose definition and detail but with the shadowline pack the wheels sit very well.

I’ve seen lower engined G29’s with the black grills etc and silver/grey wheels, in my personal opinion they didn’t look right.

The other option is just buy a new set of wheels and use existing tyres.

I’m also not 100% sure on this but I do think the black wheels are already diamond cut, just they’ve been painted back over in black

Hi Andy.

Thanks for the reply.

Im with you regarding the silver grey diamond cut wheel on a shadow plus car, i dont think it,d look right...

My thoughts were if the black wheels had the diamond cut it would add the definition back onto the car/wheel.
I personally think it needs it with the plus pack.
BUT
Its my personal preference..

I just wondered if anybody had, had it done, too see what it looked like..

As and when i manage to get the car, then i might see about getting the wheels diamond cut. Thats "IF" i get one with the shadow plus pack...

The M40i First Editions have a Black Pack (grills mirrors trim) as standard with M800 wheels in cerium grey. They also have everything else you was but only black seats available. The black/silver/matte orange combination really suits the car IMO and was one of the key reasons I wanted a First Edition. Personally I wouldn’t have black wheels on the G29.

I really like the mat orange + grey coloured cars. [First edition cars]...

Its the upkeep of them that puts me off,

Ie if it ever needs paint/stone chip repairs etc...

I have read somewhere else on this forum about such challenges..

But those wheels do really work on the car...

I give up!!!! :headbang:

I wonder how the m800 ceramic grey wheels would look on my blue.
I like the black wheels on my blue. My only problem with them is that they scratch really easily from road debris. I’ve only done 1500 miles and already had a scratch. It’s minor, but still annoyed. Never had that on any previous car alloys.

Yeah they look good, but I think with shadow line pack the black look more distinct.
I dunno. Irrelevant really. Not spending 3k on new alloys ;)

Looks good....

But thats not the Shadowline Plus pack..

Still wondering what the Black wheels would look like with the diamond cutting... On a Shadowline Plus car.??

I know! As mentioned, only the First Editions have Black Pack and Cerium Grey wheels. If you order the pack on others colours you get black wheels.

I think the wheels are the same just painted no? Surely can just be modified to the ceramic grey two tone?

Jim S has them on his blue. They look great IMO. He posted some photos recently.

Thanks Obs-Com. I do like the matching Cerium Grey wheels, front grill and mirror caps, but that is just my opinion. Black also looks good but not my preference. Happy motoring. :driving:

Agree with this, it throws off the looks slightly.

It does in photos as you don’t get the definition for some reason. In the flesh they look a lot better. Strange.
