Diagnostic Scanners

Hi,
I bought my wife a 2006 2.5si about six months ago, last week the air bag warning light came on and remained on !!
I would prefer to buy a diagnostic scanner, diagnose, fix and reset rather than paying silly money at the local dealer.
So my question is can anyone point me in the direction of a decent and sensibly priced scanner !
thanks
Ian

Havent used it yet but following recommendations on this forum I purchaes the Konnwei KW808 which is OBD11/EOBD compliant. Very cheap on ebay.

I had the airbag light come on after changing the h/unit in my e85. Local Indy reset it for me for £10 as they were servicing the car anyway. Might be worth asking your local Indy. BMW wanted £60 to do it so got told to jog on!

thanks that would be quick alternative .Think long term i'll go the diagnostic route, i like tinkering... i'm a bit sad like that

I have one of these.......Great tool for the money.

today problem got worse... air bag least of my worries ! Radio/cd, sat nav, heated seats all stopped working !! didn't risk trying roof
Could it be battery related ? Any ideas anyone

Battery
It's would appear they only need to be slightly down on power an all sorts of electrickery starts happening

Got the Icarsoft II from a seller on ebay. I was that impressed I also got one for my Mitsubishi Outlander.
