Detailing Training - North West (Shinearama)

when i was talking to foxx while paying i mentioned about the bird poo marks on my bonnet, his comment was along the lines of its good to use a car that needs something specific doing as you see the results better. basically he said if there was a group we should chose the car that needed the most doing to see a variety of bits)

i'm happy for people to practice on my car, but also just as happy to do it on someone elses. its a shame we couldn't convince them to let us do 2 tho or specific panels of different cars. (i'd really like those marks on the bonnet gone :D )

Well mine needs nothing doing as I've only just recently done the whole thing and sealed it. What I'm hoping to gain though is experience of a polishing process to allow me, when I do properly detail it next, more confidence in getting rid of any final scratches. Black paint shows Everything!

PAID:

Maniac - Yes
Taz - Yes
Domsz4 - Yes
Sp3ctre - ?
Juiceloose - Yes

FYI KickOff will be 9am, so be sure to get an early night ;) I'm sure there are drinks facilities on site, but you'll need to bring food or nip out at lunch....

Paid!

Scott at Beautechnique is completing a full enhancement detail on my Z4 starting tomorrow for one week so mine won't need any work doing on it on the 19th. I did volunteer to take my C class company car on the day as it has the odd mark on it after 51k miles in less than two years. However, if Dom wants to remove the marks off his bonnet I'm more than happy for him to take his Z4 on the day.

My car not good enough?

lol I didn't know you wanted to throw yours in there too... I'm sure we can have a crack at both :) Could do one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Be good to address any issues on both for the owners and give us some practice on different paint colours etc...

LOL, not too bothered but I did say a few pages back am happy for mine to be used. When I got it I made the mistake of asking them to get rid of a couple of hairline scratches... they did that, but replaced them with a load of hollograms! Might be a good test case :D

On a side note, what kit are you guys bringing? I have a Meguiars 220 and the Meguiars polishes. Be interesting to find out about recommended polish options etc.

I'm bringing a Kestrel DA and Meguiars polish/pads. This is the part I'm most interested in.

Are we all paid up now then? Sp3ctre?

I was not thinking of taking anything, I assumed they had kit and they would be showing us

They have kit, but not 5 sets of everything so they said bring what you use. I want to take mine as I want to learn about speeds, application etc...

Not paid yet, do you have their paypal address and I'll shoot it over?

I have no kit so won't be taking anything. I just assumed that they would provide it. If that counts me out I'm happy to let the 1st reserve take my place in return for my £50.
