Detailing for dummies?

quick steps
Products you need
Wash mit
Drying Cloth
A few micro fibre cloths
A good shampoo...meguiars or AG
A polish ...good all rounder AG Super Resin Polish
A Wax.....AG or Megs
Tyre shine....Megs tyre gel
All the above available from Halfords
£60 ish
Rinse it off well with a jet wash if you can, especially the wheels. Using the shampoo clean the whole car thoroughly but use a different cloth for the wheels. Use the drying cloth to dry the whole car. Avoid the temptation to use a chamois leather
Then leave the car for a bit to dry properly, and then do a small area at a time with the SRP. Apply it with a pad or a MF cloth, and leave it to cure for about 10 mins and wipe it off. This will show you some great results. Once the whole car is done, seal it all in with a good wax, pretty much as you did with the SRP
Coat the tyres in Megs Tyre gel (purple coloured) and be sure to wipe off any excess. This should last you for a couple of weeks

Agreed Bilberry is great for wheels, but you'll need to buy that online.....while you're at it, get some
alloy wheel wax, to minimise the brake dust accumulating

Seeing as silver is a cold, hard metalic then sealants work very well.
Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant 3.0
Collinite 845 insulator wax ( very glass like finish and very durable )
Collinite 476s ( heavy duty paste wax, very durable )
Chemical guys blacklight and V7 combo ( best over glossworkz glaze )

I'm guessing you don't need all those products? Plus I don't have off street parking (will do in a few weeks, vendor willing) so I'm also a bit limited to what I can saying that though once we move it's something I'd like to do

Not all are needed buddy. I just put up what ive found are very good products to use and get great results from. If you have no outdoor water source you could always try Optimum no rinse ( ONR ) Google it and you will see its a very effective wash product if used correctly.
