Despise the winter

Glad the Z4 is tucked away but this is the first winter I'm using the Z3 with immaculate paintwork lovingly waxed over the past 4 years, just hope I don't meet a gritter.

Its about time winter tyres were made compulsory then maybe we wouldn't need sh**ty salt and crap thrown all over the roads :x

I didnt think winter tyres helped with ice though :?

On hard acceleration, even in 3rd gear My winter tyres (falkens) are always tripping the traction control lights, much more then my summer vreds.

narrowly avoided a gritter a couple of nights ago. luckily it was in the inside of three lanes and i was able to dash around it in the third lane. dont think the chips would show up that well on white anyhow

True I didn't think of that :headbang: then I think all roads should have under floor heating :D

I will be interested to see how my Vredesteins perform in the snow.

Are they summer vreds? If so they will have the same fait as mine last summer... Abandoned in a car park off the A40! Absolutly hopeless in snow.

No, after alot of deliberation I went for the Quatrac 3s all season. I was chatting to a few 3 series owners who have fitted these with no probs in the snow. They have the M&S snow flake symbol so are winter rated so hoping they will do the job OK. I didn't go for full winters as thought the all season are a decent compromise, will see.
