ok guys ive sold my car so the hunt for a z4 is really on (good im excited!) my only current issue is that my girlfriend thinks they are a bit 'gay' :poke: but im sure she will change her mind when i get it. anyway i think i have a rough idea of what i want.

03 or 04 3.0i - Silver/Grey/toledo blue - less than 40,000 miles - black/red leather (pref m seats but seem rare?) - manual - xenons - style 108 or 107 wheels - MFSW or at the very least cruise control - heated seats - and if im really lucky tv/sat nav

have i missed anything? im not a big audiophile so not to worried re the radio, is the sat nav/tv worth looking out for?

any comments appreciated :driving:

Nice one.. you could always see if you could part-ex your girlfriend into the deal, thus not having to worry if she thinks it's gay :poke:

I have the M seats and have travelled in both. Personally I think they look much nicer, I would even go as far as saying they would be a deal clincher for me. I too wanted sat nav but I didnt get it... doesn't bother me too much now but would be nice to have. Cruise control I would not worry about, it is an easy retro fir on those model cars anyway, and not too expensive. I have the 107 wheels... love them. I like the 108's too but a lot of people seem to have had problems with corrosion on them, so watch out.

Whatever you get I am sure you will love it... and you will get gay/hairdresser jokes with whatever soft top you but, so don't worry too much about it ;)

I dont have the sat nav either - just use a portable solution :) Just retrofitted cruise control to my 04 3.0 it is easy (took 15 mins) as long as it is built before Oct 04, cost of the part is £150...

I have the 108 wheels and corrosion :( proving a nightmare to get refurbed...

heated M Seats are great :)

Happy hunting

if cruise control is an easy retro fit that might be ok :) the m seats seem very very rare ive only seen one car with them for sale so far!

are you originally from ireland by the way?

this is a bit tasty, not sure if i would def go for a silver, have had a few silver cars

The M-sport seats weren't available until the 2004 model year - if you're looking at a lot of '03s you won't find them.

I love silver and it looks brilliant in the flesh, that one has no heated seats though, big no-no for me and probably quite a few other buyers when you come to shift it.

Yep best way to tell is whether or not it has the two buttons plus the indicator LEDs on the furthest left and right of the console - the other buttons are for the TPM, roof up and down and DSC, which are standard on all UK Z4s so if it's got heated seats it'll have 6 buttons, otherwise it'll be 4.

That looks like a nice car although i personaly do not like the red seats and as Mike said Silver looks superb in the flesh i bought mine a few weeks back and once given a good detail she looks superb.

Happy Hunting.

definitely look for one with the M seats.

my greatest regret was not spec-ing my car with them when ordering from the factory. my 2nd greatest regret was test driving a z4m that had them as standard....

dead easy :)

nope not from ireland, why do you ask?

You've nailed the spec I would go for - 03 or 04 3.0i in Sterling. Heated M seats, Sat Nav & xenons. I'd go Steptronic as it's a joy to drive, but you prefer manual.

You'll love it when you find one....

Sport button is a must in my opinion.

Couldn't you just add the M seats later?...Or even aftermarket seats.

M seats are scarce on the used market and pricey when you do find them. A set on Ebay.uk just went for about $1200.
